FCP Log and Capture Issue, AV Unknown resolution

Hello,

I just updated to FCP 5 and was trying to log some footage and it wouldn't recognize my camera as a deck (which older version always had).

The Log and Capture would allow me to use the controls and the deck would play, but it was not being recognized in the FCP screen....

Anyway, after trying a few things I came across this, which worked, and since I saw that others had this problem I wanted to help solve what could take DAYS to fix.

All I had to do was get rid of old versions of quicktime and MANUALLY install the latest version and I was good.

I also had this problem when updating to the FCP 5.1 Universal upgrade. Sure enough, after hours on the phone with tech support, they finally showed me the link which you just posted. Very helpful indeed. It's so weird that it does that.
