FCP Keyboard layout

Hi,

I have to manually load FCP US keyboard layout every time I start it. I live in Europe so my keyboard is not US based and I know Apple recognizes keyboard input when launching but this is happening since FCP7 upgrade. It didn't happened at all with the previous 6 install.

Can anyone assist me on this? Is that possible to tell FCP to load the US keyboard automatically when starting?

Thanks in advance

System Preferences > Language & Text, Input Sources, what language do you have selected there, and is it set to use that for all docs, or let you use a diff one for each doc?

Only Portuguese. Should I check the US keyboard? I'm going to try that and post feedback. Thanks

EDIT: Added the US keyboard in system preferences and it really works when I change the Input source keyboard in the Apple menu bar. Now... Is that some way to:

1st choice: Make FCP to work with the Portuguese input source keyboard and loading it automatically on every start?
2nd choice: Instruct the Input source keyboard to automatically change to US layout every time I start FCP?

Thanks once again

When you set to non-US language in the OS, then launch FCP, what does still have US Standard as the default keyboard in the menu Tools > Keyboard Layout > "Default - ???" My understanding is that FCP defaults to what the OS is set to. And that is it, I believe.
