FCP Issues

1) The audio is out of sync by two seconds. I tried recapturing the footage and the problem is still there. When I watch the source footage though, everything is in sync. This problem rears its head in the source monitor and the output monitor.

2) I turned off my camera after capturing, and my MBP gave me a warning message about improperly removing a device... but the DVX doesn't show up as a device in OS X. Anyway, I have 40 clips from a tape on the timeline and 75% of the thumbnails show the red box with white text saying media files are offline... I can scrub through all this footage, so clearly it's online.

Trash your FCP preferences.
Restart your MBP.
Open FCP.

On your viewer window, click on the tab above the viewer that gives you the drop down for sync/follow/gang, and play with the settings, see if that fixes it.

For you offline media, you have two options:
1. If you've began editing, do nothing. Your clips are there but will show offline thumbnails. You can try to reconnect the clips.
2. If you haven't begun editing, delete the clips in your bin and bring them over fresh.

Hope it works out.

This is very easy to fix. In your FCP Disk look for an extra folder its ironically called dvx100 audio sync fix. Install the preset and look for it in your tools in fcp. This adjusts the audio for you.
