FCP input problem:images are cropped

I output some scenes from a master file to QT files (originals were 2K and 720P output to DV-NTSC). Then I went into QT and changed the aspect ratio because they are widescreen shots. Everything looked good. Then I imported the QT files in FCP to cut together a reel. All of the files are missing the lower 25% or so. I checked all the settings and nothing in the motion tabs are cropped. The aspect ratio in the distort menu was set to -12.5, but adjusting that does nothing. It's not my sequence settings because I have 16:9 images from other sources, as well as stills, which show full frame.

What gives? The files I originally output are fine. The problem only shows up when I import them in FCP.

Actually, I take it back. It must be some sort of sequence setting. When I look at clips in the viewer, they are fine. It's only when I put them in the timeline they get messed up.

So the final import timeline is 16:9?

Id be inclined to simply copy and paste the 2k and 720 clips (from their original projects) straight into the DV-NTSC project and work with them on the DV timeline, assuming they are all the same frame rate.

The timeline I am working in is 3:2 (720x480) The clips I brought in are 840x 480, and are coming in at about 80%, which is fine. I expected that to get the full width in a 720x480 timeline.

I am working with both 29.97 and 23.98 files.

Wow, it turned out to be a rendering issue. I had the green line, so I had playback, but I walked away from my edit bay for a while and it autorendered. Now it's fine.

Very Weird.
