FCP HD DVD Compressor Problem

Trying to compress a project shot on a HVX at 1080i / 60. Project has some graphics (after effects), music, narration, etc. Project looked great on the timeline but right before I tried to compress it, it would hang up with the "one or more frames were dropped" error and the beach ball of death. Figured since it was on a single drive, it had a hard time playing it back. Exported the video and audio to Compressor and for some reason it seems to just want to do the audio portion. It will show the frames counting down but it never finishes it. Using the H.264 60 minute HD setting. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Bad news I'm afraid. The h.264 conversion is really slow.
On a dual G5 it takes 30 minutes per minute of video.
To get an idea, create a new sequence with 10 seconds
of video and send that to compressor.

For DVD I use the MPEG-2 setting. It is faster, and
works with my HD-DVD player.

Good luck!

Thanks Rebus. I should have said that Compressor does complete the audio portion just fine. When it changes to the video compression and the window pops up that tells you how many frames it has completed. The first time I tried it, it got to about 6000 frames before it just quit. The second time it made it to 10,000 before quitting. Pretty weird and it is the first project I've edited on my new Mac Pro. I renamed the project and am copying it to another hdd and am going to try and compress it on another system in the a.m. Any other advice would be greatly appreciated. The Mac Pro is running Tiger and FCP Studio Pro.
