FCP Express vs FCP

Basic question: is express the same but just with less features? Only in terms of output quality ( I want highest audio and video quality) will there be any difference? I have express and just want to make sure it doesn't compress it more than fcp or cut corners in the quality of the final product, I don't care about the bells and whistles, I just want the meat and potatoes, as long as theyre just as fresh.

My college uses both Express and Pro. From what I've seen there is just less options in terms of video filters, color correction, etc. It also has less options for output, I think mainly just mov files with a few options for compression.
If you can get the education discount the Pro studio is about $700 to 800 which I think is the best deal for the amount of stuff you get.

Also batch logging and capturing is a biggie you lose in FCX. Unless you are doing super simple DV editing I'd suggest biting the bullet and getting FCP. I personally know exactly one person using FCX and he is constantly wishing he could afford FCP because of the limitations.
