FCP Export Problem - arghh, what is happening?

All shot 24pA, edited on 24p timeline, cleaned up render files and re-rendered, exported and still the same problem: the clips on the FCP sequence timeline play fine but the exported movie picks up random shots that do not appear in the source sequence. Result: I end up with uninvited cutaways that just spring up in the movie and I have no idea how to fix this issue. Top it off with a requirement to show the film to a bunch of viewers in a couple of days so boy would I like to hear if anyone's come across and resolved this problem.

How did you export it?

However, I'd trash preferences and also repair permissions while at it.

I've tried various export methods, including basic QT movie & Compressor. How do I trash the preferences and repair permissions? Is that in a folder or a file menu?

well, I tried trashing the preferences and that has not worked.

I just noticed that my timecode rate on the source file properties is 30 - should I modify timecode rate to 24?

Problem resolved. I spent a couple of long, grueling nights re-logging and rebuilding the film with all settings accurately in place and the export issue is now gone.
