FCP doesnt' find video from JVC deck

Hi guys,
I'm a newbie with a brand new dvx100b.
Trying out my camera I shot some footage in 24p and using JVC SR-VS30U deck
to capture into FCP.
When I try to capture FCP says there is no video.
Trying capturing from DVX, works find
Could it be a setting on the deck especially for 24p
I have captured 60, shot with the DVX with no problem.
Any ideas?

The JVC decks are super-flaky. Sometimes if you keep power-cycling the deck and restarting FCP it'll eventually work.

Of course, mine won't properly play back most tapes either - it adds a lot of glitches. Sadly, even the chepest consumer camcorder (even from JVC!) works far better, far more reliably than their miniDV/SVHS decks.

You can find all this widely reported if you search a bit... though most of the discussion I remember took place 2 or 3 years ago.

Sorry... if you still have a chance to return it, do it quick!
