FCP Crossgrade - Update or Clean install?

So I got my FCP 5 crossgrade discs today - now I'm wondering, do I leave my old FCP on the system, or do I need to get rid of it and do a clean install?

I've looked over the installation documenation on the discs and can't seem to find that addressed anywhere.

Anyone have any experience with this?

Alright - you caught me - I posted too quickly.

What version do you have on there? When I installed mine I did a clean install cause I'm just anal. But I believe when you install FCP (even if it is an update - which really is the full version) it will just overwrite the old files.

Just try it, it won't blow anything up. :beer:

Definitely install over existing, there's no reason to do a remove.

I did an Upgrade and it was fine. I ran the whole upgrade, media and all, it was just fine.
