FCP crashes EVERY TIME I use Log And Transfer ( AVCHD PANASONIC GH1)

I have Final Cut Express and Final Cut Pro installed on my system. On FInal Cut Express Log And Transfer works fine, but when I try to do the SAME exact steps in FInal Cut Pro it crashes every single time.

I have been trying for over 4 hours and nothing. I have read everything from deleting preferences to even re installing. Nothing is working and I am almost ready to give up, please someone out there help me out.

Why do you have both installed? That itself may be the problem. I would remove all traces of them, reinstall FCP only, and see what happens. If you have FCP I can't think of any reason why you'd want FCE on the same system.

I uninstalled FInal Cut Express even though my gut feeling said not too.......

NOW the same thing is happening in Final Cut Pro and I have NOTHING to import my videos as I lost my FInal Cut Express disc......

What a mess........ There must be someone on here that knows how to fix this problem, it's driving me crazy!

6:20 in the morning and finally got it to work.


I deleted some Audio drivers and Pro Tools plug ins which were demos that had expired. So for any future google search of someone that might have this same problem, go and delete and "old" demo audio drivers you have on your system that you are not using.


I have no idea how this relates to Log and Transfer, but it worked. Also I created a new scratch disk to a folder on my desktop, so maybe that did the trick?????? Well regardless.
now it's time to celebrate :beer:
