I have been reading the forums here for a while but this is my first post. I need a little bit of help understanding the capture process for 25p PAL from a canon XL2. After I capture the browser in FCP tells me that the footage has a field dominance, I am guessing I am doing something wrong because shouldn't progressive video have no field dominance?
the setup I am using is as follows;
System:
OS 10.5.2
2 x 3GHz Quad Core Mac Pro
8 GB RAM
2 TB
FCP 6.0
Camera:
Canon XL2
25p
16:9
Capture Settings:
Firewire PAL Basic
DV PAL 48 KHz Anamorphic
Sequence Settings:
720 x 576 CCIR 601 / DV PAL (5:4)
Field Dominance - none
Time Base - 25
QT Video - DV PAL (Compressor Best / Progressive / 16:9)
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
