FCP & Avid on single machine.

This may sound like a ridiculous question but after a decade of working with computers I still can't answer somewhat simple questions!

Anyway, I'm curious to having both FCP and Avid MC 5 on a single Mac Pro. Is it as simple as giving each program it's own dedicated hard drive to run at it's best? If so, what would be the ideal size of each hard drive?

Thanks!

Yes, or get 1 large hard drive and partition it in two, then install the OS and FCP on one partition, and the OS and MC on another. That way, when one wants to update stuff and the other doesn't you don't break stuff. I'd just get a 1TB drive, partition in two, and go from there.
