I did a search but can'tfine answer to my dilema,,,

am just getting aqcainted with dvx100bB ,,, shotmaybe three mins of footage

hooked up to Mac and viewed footage once, rewound and attempted to capturefor quicklook at editing and all I get is timecode errors

someone please give me the fast and dirty version on timecode

thnx

(1) Possibly take a quick look through the sticky's at the top of the FCP forum. There's one in regard to Noah's DVDs and another in regard to 24pA footage (which even if you didn't use that setting, it still might give you some insights).

(2) What kind of errors are you getting exactly? If its broken timecode, then you'll need to log around it or possibly clone to another tape (and thus correct the TC).

(3) What setting did you shoot with? I'm not a DVX guy, but from the postings I've seen around here, it does seem that you might encounter FCP digitizing problems if you don't properly align FCP to the setting that you shot with (progressive, progressive advanced, etc.).

cheers.

all good questions, I;m total new to cam BUT, since this was a final issue further helped me overcome it

I simply preped for lo n capture,, with cam as DVR just hit play - rew - ff to get to desired starting point,, enter in ,, fforward to desired point ,, enter an out ,, then just capture clip

this worked so for now,, if this is impropper technique ,, will do as workaround till I am more proficiant

from a tread on dvxuser I am now steadily taking baby steps with the cam at a good known state, watchfull of WBalance on all takes ,, and shooting 24P

Thank you for having responded to my post
