FCP and Slow-Motion

Hi I'm new to FCP. Just started to learn it, and I wanted to make smooth slow-motion footage.

I've been reading this forum on and off and picked up a few tips, but my image is still looking poor. Keep in mind I'm new to editing and filmmaking so pardon if I don't undestand some terminology.

What I did:
- Shot footage in 30p.
- Captured to FCP (my settings are with advanced pulldown 2:3:3:2)
- Pressed play and clicked capture button.
- Copied it on the timeline
- Changed Speed to 30%.

Result:
The when there's fast movement (I'm shooting an airgun) the image produces vertical lines where there is motion. (Is this same as interlacing?)

Result I hope for:
Smooth Slow-mo effect, no blur. I'm trying to mix slo-mo footage with footage shot on 24pa.

If anyone has any better solutions or notice what I am doing incorrectly, please let me know! Thanks!

Don't use 2:3:3:2 pulldown removal when you've shot 30p... that isn't what that is for... if you shoot 24PA then you use that setting.

just capture normally then either

a) use FCP to slow the footage down by whatever percentage..

or
b) Take the 30p footage into cinema tools and choose "conform to 24FPS" which is I think what you are trying to do? slowmo by shooting 30p and then using it on a 24FPS timeline?
