FCP and pluraleyes

So I covered an event with two cameras. One little Canon HF for the static wide shot in the back and then a T2i DSLR around the front for close-ups/bumps.

Now I'm in FCP and I've got pluraleyes fired up and ready to go. The only problem is that I have about 80 separate dslr clips to sync with my master audio recording. Do I really have to manually drag each clip into it's own track 80 times? Is there at least a shortkey that might speed up the process?

Any tips would be greatly appreciated...

Cheers!

The clips don't have to go onto their own track if they do not overlap in time. You just need one track for each camera. So you can select all the clips from a given camera in the project window and drag them to the timeline onto a track of their own, then do the same for the second camera, then the master audio. At that point Pluraleyes is good to go. If your clips are already time sorted (eg filenames from the Canon should be, or you can sort by media start time) you can make life easier for Pluraleyes by telling it the clips are in chronological order.

You only need to use different tracks if you are using different video or audio sources, so just select all of your clips and drag to the timeline. Then click 'Sync' and make yourself a cuppa!

Oh wow, I can see that is now spelled out plainly in the documentation. thanks for making me feel dumb... =)

you just saved me alot of time! I have to do this for 3 events per day for 10 days....heh that would have really sucked. phew!

So I have a follow up question in this area. Iff'n ya don't mind.

I have one camera with bad audio and external sound being used. The files are not time coded and I have put pluraleyes to the task. It did well in matching the sound with the video using the "Try hard" feature of PE. What has occurred though is that PE has mixed the takes up and organized them out of order. For example I lay out on the timeline takes 1-6, I then lay out sound files 1-6 underneath, hit all the appropriate buttons and hit "GO" but the result has been that the takes show up out of sequential order...thus 1-6 ends up 2,4,5,1,3,6...creating a headache of re-organizing them when I have 6 takes on 17 interviews. Is there a way to have PE maintain the order in which they have been laid out in the timeline?

I think "clips are in chronological order" setting in Pluraleyes should do it, possibly also with "single output sequence" selected too.
