FCP and my canon xh a1

I am having trouble getting my computer to read my canon xh a1. I plug it up and have gone through basically all the easy setups and it wont read my camera. I need help. I also need some help on how to get FCP to work with my canon xh a1 24f. Thanks
 
Hi Tyonek. I dont like working for free, its been covered in the Canon thread. Search and ye shall find.
 
I'd echo ncje's comment, but for a quick answer, your trouble might be that you have downconversion turned on. Turn it off and choose the HDV 1080 24p Easy Setup in FCP 5.1.2 or later and you should be ok. Also, make sure the A1's signal setup is set to Auto or HDV.
