FCP and Mac Pro. How much RAM?

I have just purchased a new 3GHz Quad Mac Pro wih 2 Gig ram. But how much ram does FCS 5.1 need to run at its best?

Also the version of FCP 5.1 I have is not universal binary to the best of my knowledge. Does it make much of a difference? Is it worth buying the UB version of FCS?
 
I have been told before that fcp is not a real ram hungry app. and that 2 gig should be fine.
I don't have a mac so no real world experience to verify it. But people like cynic have said they are handling it on a single gig even, so I would think you'll be ok.

5.1 and up is UB
You should dl the latest update (through software update).

As you have 5.1, you have the studio. 4 Gb is recomended for FCP, even more if you're into Motion, as it renders to RAM for preview.

I use 6 Gb, and cannot say I'd say no to more.
