FCP and file types?! P2 108024p

I just want to make sure that i'm doing is right.

Earlier today i imported p2 108024p footage. All i did was start up FCP6, went into new project, imported my footage and it seemed to work.

Does FCP 6 automaticaly figure out what type of timeline/footage u will work with? When i started it up, it didtn ask me what i was working with, or am i missing somthing?

In premiere, when u start a new project it lets you choose what you are doing, widescreen, hd..etc etc

If there is a green render line above your footage then you need to change your timeline settings. If it is grey, everything is correct. To change it, go to sequence settings and load the DVCProHD 1080 preset.
