FCP 7 Keeps Pixelating After I render

I let a friend use my IMAC to edit some SD footage and he changed my HD settings.
I must be missing a step because after restoring setting for some reason everytime I go to render my footage
it goes from looking crisp and sharp to looking pixelated and SD. Even when I export the footage it still looks SD and pixelated.
Can someone point me in the right direction.

I'm working on FCP 7.0.3

Until now I have never had this problem.

Did you trash your preferences

Sequence Settings (CMND + 0)
Easy setup
Audio/Video settings
