I think that it is going to tie in very nicely with tiger and the whole core video thing. Hopefully they will add some sweet features too.

One of the rumors is distributed computing (a la Logic 7).  Could be nice if rendering could be spread across a network of machines.  All of a sudden that Cluster Node DP XServe looks enticing...!

Yeah, core image, core video, and the new Quicktime h.264 codecs... Not to mention general maturing of the app.

FCP 5 + Tiger will be good, me thinks...

I can't wait! I just bought the Production Suite and a new G5. Tiger is going to widen the gap even further between Macs and PCs. You almost have to feel sorry for those poor PCers...

I hear ya. We just upgraded to Protools HD (from a Mix system) for that very reason. Our older hardware wasn't certified for OS progress, and Digi wasn't doing anything about it...

I just bought Apple Production Suite! don't want to buy it again :-/
Anyway we don't know when it'll be available.

isnt NAB in april, and Tiger is supposed to come out in June?

Can you get an upgrade if you get the production suite now with the student discount? Im conflicted on getting the production suite for $500 or FC express HD for $150
