FCP 5 Ship date?

Rumours abound, but due to an upgrade in the apple dvd player in the last couple of days, plus other bits and bobs, it looks like FCP 5 will be out NEXT WEEK!!!

Heard that too... I think it was Amazon that is saying it will ship May 15!!!

Still nothing from Apple.

I was in the Apple store in NYC last week, listening to a workshop on FCP 4.5. She kept saying FCP 5 would be available in-store on May 19.

Available May 17th is what the folks at the Apple Store in Denver told me. Amazon is still saying May 15th. However my online pre-order status still says "on or before 06/14/2005".

I am going o the fcp5 demo in London at the Apple Store on Tuesday evening. Top Apple guys at this meeting, and I would bet it can be purchased at the event, with over 500 FCP users in attendance. Crazy not to have it onsale with a small discount so that the cards come out!

Trust me... I was at the LAFCPUG presentation (by the Apple Product Managers and Designers) of FCP5 and ST Pro two weeks ago... You'll be getting out your card without any pleas from the Apple Staff. They did not have any 'sales people' there, but then, we can all find our way to an Apple Store without any difficulty. I'd estimate that collectively they spoke over 5000 words - 'discount' wasn't one of them.

I suppose they are preaching to the converted, and know that if we can make the effort to travel into central London to listen see FCP in action, we have a card in our pockets itching to be used. In that respect they don't need to discount! Probably up the price by £100 and say be the first to own a copy!

Still, I will wait a week or so and see what's about on Ebay. Can always pick up a "bargain" from there.
