FCP 5 Audio help...

So I just got FCP 5 editors suite.

I'm trying to import a tune from itunes to use for some editing...it is a AAC audio file. FCP won't play it, I have soundtrack pro as well but I'm not understanding how I can convert this to the right file type to use it? So how do I do that? Do I need to use Soundtrack Pro?

Any help would be great!

Only way I have figured out to do it is to burn the tunes you want on a cd then drag the tunes onto your desktop from the dvd icon then you can import them into FCP.

That's the way you want to do it. iTunes are protected AAC files which are also compressed. When you burn it to a CD you'll be making it an AIFF file [uncompressed]. (if you've got your Burning Prefs set to Audio CD) FCP doesn't like compressed files.
