I admit I have very little experience with fixing sound (mainly because I've always captured it well enough) but I am doing an editing favor for a friend's website and I've never used soundtrack pro, so I opened the manual and went at it for four hours, and I'm still perplexed. I realized in stead of playing with every different effect blindly, I would ask you all since I am sure this is a common problem:
Most of the sound is good enough, from a lav placed properly. At some point, the lav became disconnected and all the audio she has from this segment is the on-camera mic from the hvx. The interview was in a glass walled, tile floored room and the sound is horrible and bounces all over the place. Does anyone have reccomendations for "cleaning up" sound captured with the on-cam mic? Favourite filters? I know it will never be "good" but it should be "better." I scoffed at her sugestion that I spend $99 on "Sound Soap" I replied "I have soundtrack pro!" proudly... if I couuld only learn audio editing so I could use it, but does anyone know what may be the equivelant functions of "Sound Soap" in Sountrack Pro? Thanks!
