FCP 5 and HDV editing

Can anyone give me any help on the good and bad issues with FCP5 and HDV.

I have a G5 Imac but am looking at getting a dual 2.7 and a ton of ram.

Any help regarding FCP5 and HDV editing issues would be appreciated. I understand it is a native codec but need more info on importing and exporting...etc.

I'm about to bite the bullet on the Final Cut Studio, and I'll be wondering the same things you are...it just shipped last week, so it might be a few weeks before somebody peeps in with their hdv results...
