Editing a 1080i/24PA project in FCP 5.1.2

How come in the FCP capture scratch, the data rate of my footage is almost 100mb/s, but in Final Cut, when I check a clip's item properties in the browser, the bit rate is like 11mb/s.

if i output at HD 1080 23.98 (1080i/24PA), will my footage be compressed (of seriously inferior quality)?

Thanks

No, you'll be fine. FCP measures that figure in it's own way, ignore it. I shoot 1080 all the time, it's fine, no problems.

thanks ben,

now if i export to quicktime, using compression 'none' and maintain my 16:9 aspect ratio through letterboxing at 720x480, would i have a cleaner image, than dvcpro hd 1080i60.

what about exporting at hdtv 1920.1080?

thanks,

obviously, this is my first dvcpro hd project.

Use the Easy Setup feature, match your Sequence Settings and your Capture Settings to the format you originally recorded on, that's it.
