Hello All,
I am using Final cut pro 4.1.1, and having issues using compressor. When I export to compressor it comes up until the point I "submit" the batch. It gives ma an error saying " not able to connect to background processes" or something like that. Has anyone seen this before? Your help is greatly appreciated. I am trying to export an mpeg2 for DVD then compile it in DVD Studio Pro 2.

Not sure about earlier version but make sure you have everything installed. Latest version has Batch Monitor which is a separate application that's fired up and runs. Could be you're missing this or it's not setup correctly.

Repair your permissions and turn off your network and try again.
If this works, I'll give you another answer.
Good luck,

Thanks for you help. I tried what you suggested and it didn't work. Did you mean permissions on the compressor application? I also turned off the wireless network adaptor. What is you next suggestion ? Reinstall would be my last resort becuase it would be cool to figure out.

Thanks for your help.

I'd still go ahead and repair your permissions too...

System HD/Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility... Open it up and click on the First Aid tab. Find your system drive on the left and highlight it. Click repair permissions.

You should do this EVERY time you install a program and once a week regardless.

Also -- using the latest updates for both FCP and compressor will help.

Good luck,
