This should be easy but I can't seem to get my head around it. What would be the best setting for capturing DV footage in FCE4?
My situation: I had previously been capturing with no problem in HD Apple Intermediate Codec 1440X 1080i. Finished that project and closed it. Created new project, began to to capture some old standard DV of transferred Super 8 films. Used a Sequence Preset of DV NTSC 48 kHZ (not the anamorphic). In Easy Setup I selected Format: NTSC and Use: DV-NTSC Firewire Basic.
Tried capturing for a while, but application crashed when I pressed ESC to end capture. Tried again, same result. Third time it did not crash, but my resulting capture shows distinct interlacing lines with movement.
Am I doing something wrong with the settings? Might there be better settings for standard DV capture?
