FCE not recognizing camera anymore.

I plugged my camera into the firewire on my iMac, as I always do and opened FCE. I went to capture. But this time it said something to the effect of Could not find device continue on with capture now.

Then if you try to hit capture now, I got this message:
Attempt to capture video without a device selected. Please select a video device in your capture presets and try again.

I have not figured out where "Capture Presets" is to make such a selection.

In addition, in search for that. I went to easy setup and looked there. But now I feel I have changed those settings incorrectly and I am getting a popup that says:

Unable to locate the following external devices. Apple FireWire (NTSC) 720 x 480
Your system configuration may have changed or your deck/camera may be turned off.
Check connections and click check again.

So honestly, Im not sure whats going on.

Any help here would be hot.

Thanks,
-Tom

My 2 thoughts: Make sure your Easy Set up is correct (this will reset any options you changed the wrong way). Make sure your camera is plugged in and on before opening FCE. Hope this helps.

Well, I didn't have any luck with these settings. I finally got a second camera over. Just a canon mini-cam. But the FCE has no trouble recognizing it.

So now I am wondering if my DVX has some sort of setting on it, or is damaged. I have noticed that the FireWire plug seems to be very loose in the outlet on the camera. Wondering if somehow I physically damaged the input on the camera.
