I've heard....no, actually seen, that FCE will not handle 720/50p footage coming out of my HMC152 AVCHD camera. If I transcode the footage using some other software (eg. Edius Neo2, bundled with the camera) into something FCE understands say, 720/50P H.264 MOV, can I use that footage?
Also, I can acquire in 1080/25P and FCE will log and transfer the footage ok, although there is a green screen in the preview. I understand the HMC152 captures 25P over a 50i datastream. How is it handled internally in FCE after transcoding - does AIC store it in 1080/50i?
Because of that, do I need to tick the option 'deinterlace source' when exporting the file using Quicktime Conversion or is FCE smart enough to figure out that it was imported as a 25P source and I want a 25P output?
(if you're not familiar with 25P/50i, just think of my questions as 30P/60i, I think they're close enough)
