Ronin? Booooring, overrated.

What about bourne2, that one is really really good.
The chase in batman begins is also excellent.
And for something really fast, try the one in Quantum of solace.

Lol...yeh Mac as i said may not be the flashiest :) i was just watching u last week onyet another run of my the lighting dvd.

May not be car chase, but a car scen I like a lot is from the Italian Job with the Mini Coopers.

Bullitt still has my all time favorite. The 50 police car pile up in Blues Brothers 2000 was over the top entertaining too.

One of the Dirty Harry movies, Dead Pool I think, had a great chase sequence between Inspector Callahan and a bomb laden radio control model car.

The interminable low-speed car chase, from Mitchell starring Joe Don Baker. Gigantic 1970s land-yachts, never exceeding 30 miles per hour, signalling every turn (pursued -and- pursuers) before it's made. Awesome.

Bullitt & The French Connection probably never will be caught.

For the newer stuff, Death Proof and Drive break away.

Great call.

Also...
Seven Chances (Buster Keaton)
The Seven-Ups
Gone in 60 Seconds (1974)
Smokey and the Bandit
Brannigan
The Lineup
What's Up Doc?

Too many 007 ones to name
...and of course Duel

The truck chase in Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Not sure I'd count that.
I see it as Indy going for the Ark
(which happens to be in a vehicle).
Hands down the best action/stunt sequences ever,
but not a "car chase" per se IMO.

Well once Indy takes the wheel it does become a chase. Here's great 70's car chase many may not be familiar with from Fear is the Key, with awesome Roy Budd music. Check out 1:04, they actually broke the lens! That's how they did it in the old days, none of this namby pamby CGI stuff--

I have to agree with the OP about Ronin. It is also a favorite sequence of mine; Euro cars downshifting and turning high rpms thru twisting streets. It's a different type of driving than muscle car stuff.
