Favorite Films of the Decade

Ehh. Close enough for me.

But I'll make a note in my original post.

I was going to put footloose in mine bc it has so many catchy tunes. :) eyes wide shut, maybe my personal favorite Kubrick film is firmly in 1999.

I am not there (2008, Nope I aint Bob Dylan fan, but Haynes is genius...)

This was in an out of my top 20. If I was choosing top 20 performances, Kate Blanchett would have been on the list for her work in this.

J
For the life of me I can't think of anything starting with "J".

Q
Again, can't think of any that start with "Q".

X - Y - Z
I can't think of anything for X,Y, or Z either.

Juno

Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill Vols. 1 & 2 :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

eXistenZ (ok 1999 and not really x)
X-Men

Y Tu Mama Tambien

Agreed, who would've thought Blanchett would pull it best of all the actors played Dylan?

Btw while we are on unpredictable Haynes check out his 'Velvet Goldmine'; you'll see a very different 'young padawan' McGregor...

Also, why isnt this thread in the 'Film Disccusion' forum? Zak you started it, finish it ;)

I was really pleasantly surprised by this film. William Forsyth's amazing performance as the obsessed Sheriff knocked my socks off. And I pray I get to work with Bill Moseley some day. A shockingly brilliant actor.

And of course, the climax should go down as a classic. Love, love, loved it.

'City of God' fans; check out the complimentary Brazilian doc 'Manda Bala' (Send a Bullet, 2007).
Frog farms, kidnappings, corruption, slums, and ultra rich plastic surgeons, guess why...
Once in a decade documentary...

7. Ne le dis a personne (Tell No One) *Rent this now!*

Streamed this off Netflix, really enjoyed this. Thought, as most suspense mysteries tend to do, it fell apart a little in the third act. Really good pick though and worthwhile.

Also caught Up In The Air last night. Entertaining film, but can't for the life of me understand all the Oscar buzz. I like Clooney but I never once saw past him to the character and the story IMO didn't earn Clooney's arc or the comment on existentialism it was hoping for. Anna Kendrick was the best thing in this.

I'm coming out of semi-retirement for this one...
