Ok, so I need to control my food intake! A formula has set into my every day . . . tension = eat! I am way too big for my own likings and need to get healty again fast.
Looking for diet buddies, tips or spare dose of determination !
Sigh. That time of life when we cant drink massive amounts of beer and eat Carne Asada at midnight and snack on crap. Im with you Matthew. I practice (and loosely I might add) The Zone Diet principals. This has worked wonders for me (I have never had a weight problem sans the typical belly thingy that dudes get) but alas I hate that. My general gist is:
I try and eat 5 to 6 smaller meals a day INSTEAD of the typical 2 or 3 that most people seem to do.
I drink tons of water to stay hydrated. Seriously, like a JUG a day.
I never drink Cokes unless I am at a movie or eating Carne Asada (Local Taco Shop). I drink Iced Tea mainly unsweetened.
I never eat crap; no candy bars, candy, sweets, ice cream. This area is not a sacrifice for me as I just dont eat that **** anyway.
When eating meat I try and have a piece no bigger than the size of my hand sans fingers. So, cut you fingers off and that is the size.
I eat CARBS only in moderation; meaning Im not sucking down fries and potatoes and chips and any other CARB heavy foods. I eat them in condiment sizes for taste.
BUt you need CARBS for energy so when I do need some Carbs I try and get them mainly form fruits and veges.
I go easy on breads and if I do eat bread it is usually wheat.
I love Milk but limit myself to one small glass a day.
I work out 3 to 4 times a week. These consist of BAsketball and weights; this area is not hard for me as I just enjoy it and it lets off alot of steam (stress).
I eat only until Im just barely full. I rarely ever OVER EAT to the point where Im gonna go pURGE it out like some supermodel.
When I started doing this little ritual I lost 10 lbs WITHOUT EVEN WORKING OUT.
My energy levels are typically off the charts.
I feel better.
NOw and again (hell, weekly) I fall off and indulge. I love drinking beer (not in an alcohoic way but a festive SUMMER is here lets drink cervezas!) and eat some crap (usally on weekends I get my Taco Shop food) but the cool thing is, if I indulge, I just start over and BAM, the body responds.)
hey matthew, i cut down on my carbs and have lost 17lbs so far. have had some friends who were on it and have lost alot of weight as well. no bread, rice, pasta, sweets...just went to in and out burger today and ordered a 4x4 protein style...
This carb thing works. The Atkins Diet freaks me out and I cant do that one (Their induction period is like boot camp for the stomach) but the ZONE principals are working wonders. Thats cool Boo! What is the 4x4 protien style?
Guys your making me hungry! Love the support though. So shall we here forth build a DVXuser DIET? As far as workout I am thinking on flowpod arm extentions and dutched camera crunches and hold it.
..well im a vegatarian so i wont reccommend what foods you should eat LOL.. but my mother has taught nutrition classes before, and my wife is an aspiring nutritionist. so anyway.. i can say that for a non veggie diet, the above is good info. but theres a couple very easy to do things that really cut down on the unneeded intake, and will make a difference.
#1: stop drinking milk.. milk is for babies, and is designed to give them the fat, and protien, and other stuff they need.. but adults do not need those things anymore.. its very excessive for an adult to drink milk (i mean animals know when to stop drinking it .. why dont we?) .. so anyway. if you cut out the milk.. you will see a difference from that alone.. espescially if you drink it by the glass, and not only just for cereal. ..recently a freind of mine took this advice, and within a couple weeks he was glad he did as it made a big difference.
#2: cut out the soda and sugary/acidic drinks.. not only are they horrible for you (a human tooth will completely dissolve in a glass of coke in one day), but they mess up your digestive system.
#3: excercise- this should be self explanatory, but just do somthing that gets your heart rate up a little or alot-sweating is good.. NEVER overdo it!
-working out is not excersise.. it is stregth/muscle building, and not neccesarily weight losing. ..yeah i know.. this ones not as easy, but it realistic.
#4: get enough sleep.. i wont go into this one and all the ways it will help cause it would be a book here, but sleep is VERY important to your body. when someone gets adaqaute sleep it changes alot of things.. generally they are alot more content, and peaceful, and feeling up to the task of doing stuff they enjoy.

Albertos and Roberstos are epic (Did you know that was father and son?). But, I get mine at a little Taco Shop next to my house. Very grubbing. For those that do not know it is:
Carne Asada
Flour Tortilla cooked on grill to toast it
Guacamole
Onions
Tomatoes
Cilantro
Splash of Lime
Marinated Beef (Typically marinated in a Orange based marinade)
excersize by running a mile 2 or 3 times a week. people dont know it and theyre too lazy to admit it, running is the best way to lose weight by excersizing. eat whatever you want, just not a lot of it. instead on having 5 pieces of pizza, have 2. instead of getting mashed on beer, try my favorites like soco, red label. eat 2 meals a day and skip breakfast. low carb may work, but the cause of being overweight is eating too much. eat less and run, youre guarunteed to start dropping pounds.
I lost 70 lbs on atkins in about 10 months. I wouldnt recommend it as a life plan. I dont think its that healthy in the long run. But I was desperate. I had to do something.
I think the main thing is to be realistic. I pack on about 100 lbs in 2 years. So I figure it will take me that long to lose it. There is no such thing as an instant miracle. Whether it be diets or pills or anything.
Make realistic goals that you can stick too. And if you have a "bad" day dont punish yourself. Just get back up and start again.
