Fastest hosting speed for video content?

[agwah]

After we have compressed the movie well in whatever format we choose, where should we host it for the fastest possible download speed for the end viewer.

How can you check your hosting servers speed.

What are the different variables that one needs to think about.

Location?
Server speed?
File type?
Packets?
How many hits at one time?
File size?
Cost?
Bandwidth?

What is the average bandwidth possible to send stuff on a good day across the internet.

Where are the places where you can find more information on this stuff.

Any comments or thoughts are very appreciated

thanks
