Faster Rendering?

Hey guys, just wondering, if I want to speed up the rendering process, what will I need to upgrade? Using Magic BUllet video filters makes the rendering process a huge pain in the a$$ cause it takes so long!

My current system:
P4 3.2ghz
2GB of RAM
2 x 160gb HD

So yah, what directly affects the rendering? what part should i upgrade?

Your system sounds almost exactly like mine (except I have a single 200GB hard drive).

I haven't tried Magic Bullet yet, but have a copy on the way. Many people report similarly slow render times.

One thing you can do in Premiere (you're probably already doing it) is designate the 2nd drive for your files, etc. while the 1st runs the program. They say this will speed things up a bit.

Otherwise . . . I'm not sure what you can do with the hardware. You have a good chunk of RAM and a reasonably fast processor. Improvements to your existing system will probably be incremental.

cant do much bu make sure nothing else is running in the background.. or upgrade your machine. I use a separate drive for system.. one for audio, and one for video. and its still takes a while. not much you can do untill they incorporate network rendering. .. you could do it in AE and take advantage of that though if your using MB ful verison for AE.

yeah, I have a P4 3.6 GHz with 4 GB's of RAM and separate drives as well and once you get Magic Bullet involved it STILL takes forever.

I am guessing there aren't too many systems out there with a setup better than mine right now, so I don't think much can be done to improve these render times.

You can try getting a graphics excellerator card. Then again, I don't know if that will any major improvement. I was able to mimic most or all of magic bullet preset with just using Premiere's color corrector & the basic filters it has. My render times are 9 times faster. People always think I own magic bullet. I just tell them Premiere CC baby! and its free! hah!

Rendering is a fact of life whether you have a PC or a Flame Suite... so the only thing is to plan for it in your workflow.

Eg leave rendering as last thing you do in a project... or going home time, coffee time etc

Magic Bullets - Consider that this process is like PhotoShop working on thousands of frames instead of one at a time.

BTW I have a realtime Matrox Card but it has no speed impact on a Plug in such as MB.

Nothing you can do about the rendering on Magic bullet.

thanks for all the help guys! i definitely got my question answered! maybe ill just play around with CC more, instead of relying on MB!
