Faster? Dual 2.5 GHz G5 or fastest current MacBook Pro?

Ok here is the deal. I have a Dual 2.5 GHz PowerPC G5, the one with 2 CPU's NOT the one with 1 dual core CPU. Anyway I own a PC that I use for downloading P2 cards currently, and will soon be getting a MacBook Pro for this task. I want to know is my G5 still faster when using Final Cut Studio 2 than the fastest current MacBook Pro? If so I will buy a less expensive MacBook Pro just for P2 downloading, if not I want to get the fastest MacBook Pro avalible and sell my G5. If anyone knows the answer to this please let me know. Thanks in advance.
