fast pan transition in vegas?

i was wondering if any of you knew how to do that fast pan with blur effect transition using vegas, or if theres a plugin out there that can achieve it. i cant really recall a specific instance or movie where its used right now, but its used mostly when moving the subject in different places or backgrounds. its common but really cool.

Any fast movement will be blurred when you use motion blur. If you want a SMOOTH blur, then use supersampling as well, though expect MONSTER rendertimes for both.

Go to VIEW and make sure Video Bus is selected. Down on the video bus timeline, right click and insert the following envelopes: Motion Blur, Super Sampling. From there, adjust to taste, just like you would the velocity envelope with points, levels, etc.

thanks. what i did was put the same event in two layers and panned the first one fast, added blur and supersampling. worked well. but i want some kinda lines from when its panned. like the subject is being stretched sort of. can that be achieved?

You could also try the "TV Simulator" effect. There's a slide for "Interlacing" on it; drop "Reset to None" from the effects palette and then slide it over.

You may not be able to get it as fine as you want it to be, but it's worth a shot if you find the results acceptable -- it will save you lots of time, both in setting it up and in render time.
