fast and the furious 3 .... ugh.

He thought fast and the furious 3 was the worst looking sequel ever. But there's always something worse.

This is just wrong.

The Hot Asian chicky's are cool but come on mang. Why do they insist on making stupid movies ?

Why would you want OldBoy remade? That movie is about as close to perfect as i can imagine the story getting. Acting, plot, cinematography, Chan-wook Park nailed it the first time out.

Thank you!! I agree exactly. Why the hell do you contemplate remaking a film that hit theatres only a couple years ago. It's bull-you-know. Remake horrors all you like, but good films, unique films that hit on so many levels... at least let the original have a bit of a shelf life before ripping it off.

I wasn't impressed with Better Luck Tomorrow at all. Cool title, but other than that I recall it bored me and it's unresolved ending made the me regret sitting through the whole thing.(feel free to correct me on the unresolved ending - my recollection is vague on it)

The new fast and furious will make it's way out of theatres fast and furiously.

i replied to that saying i would remake it to save the movie from being ruined. theres lots of film i want to save from being remade in to less than stellar moviess, like predator, halloween etc. OLDBOY is my favorite movie and i would remake it to keep it from being ruined by someone esle.

Yea i get Spidey's sentiment.

I don't think I could ever live up to the stress of a project like that. Especially if i was as much of a fan of the sacred text as Spidey is.

The blame should be placed squarely on the shoulders of the Studios who think these kinds of remakes are a good idea or even necessary.

The hack directors making them are merely gears of the machine.

true but i mean we find theres one director who can deliver like the ring was a steller remake IMO even if you dont like the film it lived up'd to the source material. and If i were to save a few movies that have been talked about OLDBOY would be the first. Then BATTLE ROYALE, then a few other asian films. I lover thos films and use them as source material when I direct and write. I feel I could do it and I would want to talk to the sources writer and director just to establish a connection and try to live up to what he served.

I want to save a few films from being commerically destroyed.

Well thats a noble effort.

On an aside.

What did you find appealing about Battle Royale? I saw it but felt it was a let down after everything I had heard.

I think it was the flashback sequences and the wacky murderous ex-teacher that pissed me off.

i've got the novel and all the manga comics and botrh the battle roayle and SE version. Do you know of Takashi Kitano? (the teacher) Great actor and director. I enjoyed the movie mostly becuase i like movies where poeple get into situations they didnt want to be and there's only an option out. Plus its like the running man and I love that movie.

I think I could make a very great version of BR.

I'd love to see your version of it.

Have heard some great things about the original novel as well but that film made me wary.

WTF? "Better Luck Tomorrow" was one the worst movies I have ever seen. How that had any appeal is beyond comprehension. For him not to say it wasn't based on the Sunny Hills murders is absolute BS. He went to Sunny Hills and grew up in Buena Park.

Why would he remake "Old Boy" ??? leave that movie alone. He even said it was a classic. Unbelievable. Now if you said Tarantino would remake it, I would still have reservations, but who knows.

well. your opinion was stated now move on back to the thing.

machinist, the book is good I would write it more personal based i think the movie got to about everyone and manag does too. the novel get to everyone but mostly first person accounts of shuya is best. so i dunno I would write it that way.
