FARGO

J.R. Hudson

Spirit Animal
After all of these years I finally watched this great wonderful film.  Its one of those films "I cant beleive I missed".  Buschemi was great as always, Frances was grounded perfectly and MAcy plays the usuall pathetic geek.

I loved it.  On the cover it says EBERT calls it "An American Masterpiece" and I have to agree, what a great slice of American cinema that takes place in bum fu*cked north dakota. (No offense if anyone os from Fargo  :P )

Great film.

Re: FARGO

I still haven't seen this...

I missed it the day we watched it in Film Class, and since then I've never had the opportunity. I keep telling myself I will, but never get around to it :-/

Re: FARGO

Dude...Mike...You've got to see this film, it's outstanding imo. Characters, story, it's awesome.

I've still got friends that walk around going "yep, you betcha" (see the film, you'll understand why)

Re: FARGO

I'll take note!

For some reason I never remember to watch it...Maybe I will the next time I'm in a video store...

Re: FARGO

As I said "I cant believe I missed this"

Think Tarantino in normal peoples lives but not a rip off as its the Coen Brothers who have their own gig.

Re: FARGO

Before I became a "film guy", I watched this film and thought it was okay... stupid voices, but lots of violence & death, so it was okay...

After becoming "film guy" I rewatched this film one night for no particluar reason. As I sat there watching each scene develop, each character develop, the pacing, the look, the feel...I was amazed... needless to say I feel this is one of the great films ever made, I consider this to be a flawless picture and a masterpiece(that doesn't make it one of my favorite films - it only puts it in a very small of list of films that I'd consider perfection.)

I love the Coen's. They are at heart indie filmmakers that made it! Though not as great as Fargo, O Brother, Miller's Crossing, & Big Lebowski all kick ass.

Oh yeah, and for cinematography Man Who Wasn't There is a masterpiece.

Agreed, I thought Big Lebowski was fanastic too. Great characters/story.
