i will try again with this thread! The last thread must have been removed by an administrator as it has gone. If there is a reason for that would love to know!

Surely it isn't against forum rules to let people know I have written a basic explanation that is on my site? As am emailed by DVXusers constantly asking the same questions it made sense to have this FAQ. I am not directing traffic away from this site to discuss it there, a discussion was already forming about it here. The whole idea.

Sure you guys have your own stickies, but as a user of many different ones I am sharing my experience and the info there covers stuff not covered in the stickies.

People can read it then discuss it on there. Would have thought it would have been helpful to a lot of people who come here.

So if there is a reason to delete my thread. Please tell me. Please do not just delete it and not notify me in any way.

If it was a mistake, then again please let me know this. Just deleting a thread without notification or explanation does seems a little bit rude!

Best,

Philip

Edit: I have just been told by someone disconnected with running DVXuser that words were exchanged between people that should not have been exchanged on public forum. Is this the reason the whole thread was removed? If so why not just delete the posts and put up a message explaining why?

Hey Philip I really like your FAQ also your personal forum has lots of really good info on it.
I didn't get a chance to read the deleted thread and hope that the mods can restore it.

BTW, I look forward to meeting you at Re:Frame 2009 in Austin TX.

Hey - I guess I'll repost what I wrote yesterday:

Thanks for the 35mm adapter FAQ. I think a logical next step would be a follow focus FAQ, or maybe a longer post that covers follow focus, mattebox, and rod support systems (the most common accessories to accompany a 35mm adapter).

These are great for reference, and to get newbies started. Hopefully this thread won't get deleted again!

I hope my suggestion about changing terminology didn't cause any issues...although I see that you acted on my suggestion.

It was a shame to find out the original thread was removed as it was considered not in the "community spirit" by linking to a page with the feature on it. A habit of mine, apparently.

It was a shame nobody contacted me before doing it or after it until I complained. It's a shame my motives for it and being on this forum have been questioned. Shame my 800+ posts count for nothing. After all look at the thing I was linking to, what do I exactly get out of writing it and posting it? Just the pleasure in knowing that it is helpful to newcomers. Am certainly not doing this out of some sort of suggested quest for popularity!

For all these reasons I will be taking a break for a bit from here, until it becomes a nicer, friendlier place!

Anyone with any questions please don't hesitate to email me, I am always happy to help. After all that is why I come to the forum.

Actually it's not a shame it's quite wrong. Am quite gutted to be honest.

Philip

P.S. I hope DVXuser leave this message up as people should be allowed to complain. This is after all a community not an autocracy.

Philip,

Glad you're back up and running. I know you use the glider shoulder support, so I just wanted to know if you still like it after using it for a while. Also, I'm seeing some for about 100.00. Same one, I take it? Your thoughts?

I don't know exactly what happened in this case, but if someone was removing Philip's post about the 35mm FAQ because it wasn't in the "Community spirit" there is something wildly out of place here.

Can we have an explanation please.

Nobody has spread more information about these adapters than Philip. I thought the FAQ was fair and treated all the manufacturers fairly.
