I see Fantom 250gb drives for $80.

Does anyone have experience with them? I usually buy Lacie, so am not sure about the reliability of these.

To be exact: FANTOM DRIVES TITANIUM II 250GB EXTERNAL FIREWIRE/USB 2.0 HARD DRIVE TFD250C8

I need a couple 250gb fw drives. One to store FCP Media Managed copies of about 50 short films, another to copy media from another cranky drive.

best,
elmer

I've have been very statisfied with a Fatom 1TB Firewire 800 drive I purchased about 5 months ago. Got it from NewEgg.com for $399.... $80 for 250 sounds like a good deal. I'd say you'll be satisfied.
