Fantastic Four Quick Review

tmnt

King of Australia
The first 2/3 of the movie was pretty decent. Dr Doom had some badassery going on. Kate Mara, shazaam. Ending was definitely an afterthought. Still, not as bad as the reviews would have you believe. Kate Mara. Did I mention Kate Mara?

2.75/5

It's one of those movies I wouldn't pay to see on the big screen after the reviews and my friends saying don't bother, but I'll definitely watch it on demand for free when it shows up on Cable.

Yeah, same here. No way I am paying for this after the entire world has trashed it. lol.

If you're used to paying for a ticket to a Marvel movie this will definitely disappoint, it's a good bit below that calibre. I'm just a sucker for the cinema, ha!

Finally got around to seeing this, and wow... talk about amateur hour.

I've seen some terrible movies in my life (many far worse than this), but no major studio produced film I've seen has ever felt quite so amateurish as Fantastic Four (2015). From the script, to the direction, to the acting, to the lighting, to the VFX and on and on... this never felt like a film from a major Hollywood studio.

I can't even list everything that felt off about the film, because it was literally everything. With the one possible exception of the effects work on the Thing, every single decision the filmmakers made in the creation of this film was that of complete amateurs. It was like watching the rejected 2-hour pilot for a Netflix series, or rather a SyFy channel series, as Netflix is doing much higher quality work than this these days.

I cannot believe that a studio spent $120M producing this. They must have just been throwing money at endless VFX redoes, because that budget isn't reflected anywhere else on screen.

I know that the Director was relatively inexperienced, but that didn't stop Colin Trevorrow (Jurassic World) or Gary Shore (Dracula Untold) from hiring talented filmmakers to help make up for their inexperience. Now Dracula Untold was pretty disappointing as well, but at least it looked and felt like a movie.
