Fantasic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer

One thing I find retarded... the figures on the wedding cake. Some tarded producer, art director, director, someone thought that would be cute. No.

And what up with the poster (too lazy to go back and find who it was that said it) who was talking about 3rd acts and surfer being bad then good. Smokin crack or talking about a different movie? Or seen this one.

Obviously, Gage isn't a comic geek. The Surfer was sent out to find a world for his master to devour. If that ain't bad, I don't know what is. It's the standard Hero vs. Hero schtick.
 
That's been a big question about this movie, whether big ol' Galactus will show up or not. I've heard different things from this one being just about the Silver Surfer or there being a cliffhanger ending for Galactus in a Fantastic Four 3.

But I don't know, I kind of liked the first one but it just felt like it was missing something bigtime yet I can't put my finger on it. I definitely know that Reed Richards was supposed to be older than that though, grey hair on the sides or not. But other than that they seemed to have everything. The Thing was the best part of the movie though, they got him just right. Doom was a little much, the whole metal suit of armor deal in the comics was much better than his entire body turning into metal. What exactly are they going to do with that now that they had their little chemistry science scene at the end of the first one? Doom seems a lot more vulnerable now with that characteristic.

Getting back to the trailer for Fantastic Four 2, didn't it seem to be a little too long? I like the idea of showing a scene instead of blowing people away with loud explosions and seizure inducing clip edits but I felt that they may have shown too much of the Human Torch - Silver Surfer chase. Still, I'll definitely go see it, who knows, it may be much better this time around.

As for the trailer's length and what it shows.... it has me intrigued.

"Oh my God.... does Johnny live? I have to go see!!"

Okay... maybe not that much, but I thought it looked interesting.

For some reason I can't seem to remember what movie two characters were having an argument over who was better, the Silver Surfer or some other super hero. Seems like it was something of a major movie, but I could be wrong. I known I'm going to hate myself when I get the answer to this because I should remember it. But at the time I had no idea who the Silver Surfer was. In fact, I kinda found out in this thread...:beer:

I don't think so, Isaac. Seems like some kind of action movie. It was in a Tarantino movie I think. Google, here I come.

EDIT: Effin-A!!! I found it!!! It was in Crimson Tide and the argument was between which Silver Surfer was better...the Jack Kirby Silver Surfer or the Moebius Silver Surfer. Denzel Washington's character preferred Kirby. The scene was written by Quentin Tarantino.

Amazing, you can find anything by Googling. Google led me to the Wikipedia entry for Silver Surfer. Gotta love the internet.
