Famous Actor/Relative

Hi All,

This past weekend I shot the final scene for my feature. In it, I cast my grandfather for a role. Before he ever came on set I asked him if we would need to do SAG paperwork for him because he's a rather well-known actor (he said not to bother). Now suddenly rumor has it that I might not be able to use his name in the film! He's my f*cking grandfather! Anyone know some loopholes or do I just have to pay him and have him buy me a nice XMas gift? ;)

Thanks for any tips,

Josh

You have nothing to worry about - as long as your grandfather signed a release to appear and be credited in your film. The problem with SAG (or AFTRA) is his alone (as long as you are not a signatory yourself).
