I'm looking to shoot a sequence where the character crashes through the roof of a barn in a parachute and hangs in the harness as the parachute rigging/canopy is stuck in the rafters.
My initial idea is a rigging and pulley system. Stunt person is in a harness and lowered from top of the ceiling down. The actual parachute rigging is on a separate rigging/pulley from the safety line.
Either use a climbing harness and belay the person or maybe a hand winch with brake. Then speed up the footage in post.
Is there a better way?
Also, anyone know any stunt coordinators in central Ohio who have a background in this type of stunt?
