Fake TVs...

Does anybody know if there is a place in or around San Francisco that sells or rents fake TVs? Long story short, I need a Sony HD tv for a shoot but don't own one and don't want to buy a real one...any suggestions? Thanks!

Go buy one at circuit city and then return it. There's no restocking fee on any of them. Well, not when I worked there in Florida. They fired me, so I don't feel bad telling you this... :)

I'm going to petition the Supreme Court to suspend the 8th Amendment and allow cruel and unusual punishment for people who actually do such things... Perhaps something with rusty chainsaws would be appropriate...

Seriously, just buy a broken one at a garage sale or something. Don't waste a companies time and money by buying one and returning it. Besides, if something happens to it, you'd be stuck with it.

Well then, if it bothers you, then just do it at the store I used to work at...

OK, so I would never seriously do something like that and, even though CC can kiss my ass, it bothered me when others did it too...

The makers of the short action film Broken did exactly this with some props. They bought them at Wal-Mart for use in the film, took good care of them during shooting, and then returned them for a full refund. Certainly one way to stretch the budget.
