Fake Blood

This should've been posted in special effects. But, I don't make my own, I like to use Ben Nye's stage blood. It's the best.
 
I used to make a decent batch of fake blood using the following:

1 bottle Karo corn syrup

1 packet of cherry flavored Kool Aid (you can substitute w/ fruit punch but I prefer cherry)

1 bottle of red food coloring

I forget the exact procedere, and honestly you can mix it any way you see fit.

If I remember correctly I put the whole bottle of corn syrup and Kool Aid in a blender then added food coloring little by little to get the color where I wanted it. You can also add water as you go to get a proper consitency as you go. I think it was close to 1/3 water 2/3 corn syrup.

If you use a blender it will tend to get a little frothy at first but it will settle. Remeber to wash out the blender fairly quickly.
 
Here is one that I have used for a large quantity of fake blood:

Dye free laundry detergent and red food color, mix to the shade of red that you like; it works great and is inherently easy to clean up.
