Fair Editing Price

I am a fairly experienced creative filmmaker and I just scored a paying editing gig. Trouble is I have no idea what would be a fair and realistic fee for my services. The services is for a non-profit organization. They are holding a large benefit dinner and hope to raise about 30-40k. The video is a 15 minute tribute consisting of mainly interviews and b-roll. The editing will likely take about two full days (the group has picked out a lot of the selected shots from the pre-shot interviews using timecoded dvd's)The editing facilities was donated for free from a local artist run media group. I am going to be editing on Final Cut Pro.

Any ideas? I don't want to gouge but I don't want to undersell myself.

lowest editor rate i ever charged was $350/day. the most was $1200/day. fair is what they can afford. start high. if they have an issue, negotiate. do not cut the a deal because it's the first time working with them. you'll lock yourself into a sh*tty rate when they keep coming back to the "cheap guy".
