This is an excellent forum and I'm glad to be a part of it!

I'm currently a film major at UCLA and I have some good experience with the technicalities of screenwriting.

I'm here to help any members of this forum who want to give screenwriting a try. Nothing is more fulfilling then seeing something go from an idea to an actual short film or full feature.

In return I would hope that someone could film one of my shorts (or buy it?) and maybe even give me a try at directing. I wish I had thousands of dollars to buy some nice cameras / lighting / mics and what not but remember, I'm a college student.

Welcome to the board, Alexander. It is a great community of filmmakers at various stages and disciplines. Here in SoCal we have a lot of members and I'm sure as you get to know people, here, you will find opportunities to work with them and enjoy the filmmaking process. Of course, filmmaking is a relative term around here as most of us are video-centric...but not all...

Welcome to the board. I'm right around UCLA as well.

You know what I think the screenwriting sub-forum is missing? In-depth discussion on Screenplays that have been sold or are popular. Let's all start cutting up what we're seeing in the theaters now.

Like Children of Men.

no, sorry. i didnt mean to imply it was at that site. i meant we could discuss actual screenplays available for anyone to read.

Yes, Zak, sounds like a great idea. That could help get the forum going stronger. Pick one and let's start it!
