Another 90's movie I'd never seen... watched it tonight... really good film! Nicolas Cage was REALLY GOOD in this movie... I cried in a couple parts... enjoyed it very much.

Oh my.

"Underrated Masterpiece"?

This is the film that made me rethink if Woo was even worth a damn.

"Cried in a couple parts"?

Oh my.

Face Off ...... Travolta / Cage.... that one?

Cried? Really?? You are probably the first person to ever find enough of an attachment with that movie to have actually shed a tear.

Was it the overuse of slow motion or the utterly ridiculous premise that wasn't even remotely based on reality? Or was it the ridiculous prison? (i'm kidding of course, I'm guessing it's when Travolta probably in Cage's body has the emotional moments with his family).

I look at Hard Boiled/The Killer, then I look at Broken Arrow/Faceoff/MI2/Paycheck - I can't believe it's the same guy!

yep, same guy. same heavy-handed, melodramatic, ballet-of-bullets guy.

Hated it also.

Not to mention, Nic Cage + Travolta make me want to vomit.
especially when they are adding each other's irritating manner to their own. "You're hot!"

Hated it, too. Nicholas Cage did his typical over-the-top act, but this time you had Travolta aping him. :(

I love Nick Cage; I love his over the top performances; starting all the way back with Valley Girl.

I really enjoyed Face Off in spite of John Woo. John Woo is a mystery too me; why is this guy making movies in Hollywood ? Why is his name mentioned with the breadth of admire ?

John Woo 'Super Hack'

Face Off was fun; but I think any director could have told this story.

Brandon ? You cried in Face Off ? It takes a ton too get me misty; last time I remember feeling the throat was The Notebook when Gena Rowlands falls back into Alzheimers and starts freaking out on James Gardner; now that is tough too take

You cried in Face Off ?

Damn boy, It's time you joined the service I think.

I cried during Face Off too. I watched it in a underwater tank while being mauled by sharks with only a straw and a blown-up sandwich bag to breathe with

he had the admiration and endorsement of Tarantino at the time.

HAHAHA! Yeah... I'll admit... when Cage was frustrated that his wife was freaked by him and he started crying... I got misty eyed... Just because I knew how bad he felt... how lost he felt at that moment...
