Facebook Fan Pages for Filmmakers

Hi All,

I don't know about you guys, but I've been trying to find a way to use my Facebook fan page to showcase my videos without it looking like an ugly status feed. I don't really like Facebook, but at least 80% of my views are coming from there so I can't ignore it. My goal was to have control over which videos people will see first when they land on my Fan Page while keeping my branding consistent.

So I looked up the different options. Pagemodo seemed good but I would have to purchase the pro package for it to support video. Pholiofy was the winner for me. It's cheaper than Pagemodo and runs of wordpress, which I am already familiar with.

So ya, if any of you are looking to spice up your Fan page with video, you may be interested in one of these companies. Pagemodo is feature rich but cost more and Pholiofy is cheaper, uses Wordpress and is extremely quick to get setup.

You can make a facebook landing page and do some simple html coding to include your demo reel. I'll find some tutorials for you.
 
Thanks for the link El Gato, I think you still need to host your own content and edit the HTML every time you to make changes. I will be updating the page regularly, so the thought of using Wordpress is pretty neat. I didn't realize this at first but, you can also incorporate a navigation bar on your fan page, just like a regular website - that's definitely something I don't want to code myself. @John Threat - I think there is return. I really had to drag myself back to Facebook because I really didn't want to. But like I mentioned, I am getting good paying gigs from people sharing my videos on Facebook so it can't be overlooked.

I contacted Pholiofy to see if they can offer us a DVXuser discount. Discounts rock lol

better than what I do grovelling at the feet of people.
Social networking is very powerful indeed - and that I dont sneeze at.
I feel like - me included - sometimes have spend too much time seeding clouds with web stuff instead of making more and more films and flying above the clouds if you know what I mean.

wait - do I know what I mean?
